I stayed with dad in his room all night last night. I understand why he wants pain meds and to get knocked out! He doesn't get much sleep at night because they come in every other hour to do something to him. He was still intubated so he had to write down everything to me he needed.
At 5:30 am this morning while still on the ventilator they allowed him to initiate his own breaths. He was doing so well at about 10:30 am they took the tube out. He was a little anxious at first. He's been doing well since then.
If anything new occurs I will update again.
